Goodbye Taylor the Sailor, Hello New Office!

Last night I got a desk! This doesn't seem like a big deal for most people but for me, its crucial for my productivity. I have been complaining for months that I needed a desk to work at. FINALLY I have one! 


I can't say Ron was too impressed when he got home from work yesterday to see my Taylor the Sailor room completely torn apart. (I did after all tear it apart for the redecorating that I haven't completely finished yet.) Sorry Tay, but your bedroom has turned into my office space! Not to worry, I have big ideas to keep Taylor the Sailor room looking good! 


After I get my new little office space fixed up, I will continue working on my Etsy store. First, I think I need to make this sign for my new Sailor Room/Office.... 

A reminder to Ron that I may be crazy, and I may tear apart the house at the most inopportune times but hey, RELAX! I've got it covered! 

Our First Story

We received our first batch of windows from a house in Pasadena California.

The home was built in the 1920s. As we drove up the long brick drive way, I could imagine how much fun hide and go seek would be amongst all the elm trees on the property. The home looked warn and loved. It made me sad to think that in just a few weeks, this house that I can only dream housed so much love would be torn down to build another cookie cutter model.

The woman who greeted me clearly didn't realize the treasure she held. Everything was stripped from the home, the bathroom fixtures were gone, the stair case banister gone, the lighting about the entry way gone. What was left, 4 dirty, rotting windows that were set aside carelessly only to be forgotten about until the final days this house stood.

These windows were in great shape for something built in the 1920s. These windows watched as the neighborhood shot up around them. They stood there through the Northridge earthquake of 1994, survived the many games of catch played by the children of the neighborhood, these windows they experienced.

Now these windows will once again be cherished by those who can appreciate the old. Authentically shabby chic, Window by the Sea adds original photography by Ron Warfield to share the beauty these windows have seen.
